Light and heat from the Tilley lamp. No there's no ground sheet in the living area of the tent and there's a 1 inch gap around to bottom of the fly sheet so no carbon monoxide build up.

Did the mozzy homing beacon light OK?  The glass looks clean so I'm guessing it did

Got out on my bike early this morning - squeezed 45 miles in before (second) breakfast.  Sunrise over the Cotswolds:

Got soaked to the skin walking Milo in the rain. My raincoat has had it, time for a new one.

For some raincoats it is possible to re-apply the waterproof coating (this is much cheaper than a complete new raincoat).

Mines drying in the garage after doing just that  :tu:

That stuff needs a well ventilated area to apply, talk about strong fumes

I went for a nice walk in the woods with Milo. It's certainly changed a lot since I was last here in 2012. All the paths are now posted for the full route, and are well worn by all the visitors it now gets. It's go so popular that it now has a car park for around 30 cars.  The full route was about 3 miles so I took it steady and rested my back when it told me it needed to, and also sat by the lake and had a nice brew.
Along the walk I also came across a downed silver birch tree so took the opportunity to gather a load of birch bark for fire lighting.

Pics from along the walk...

A nice view from my seat on the stones while having a brew...

and of course, a pic of Milo watching the grebes on the lake...

I walked way to far for my knackered back, but I'm trying to push myself to walk better, further and hopefully lose some weight along the way. Now where are my pain killers   :-\

Looks lovely Kev.  :tu:
I'm lucky in that walking doesn't aggravate my back, in fact it's when I have the least pain (as opposed to sitting or standing for long periods).
I'm also convinced that most lower back pain isn't necessarily because of a 'bad back', rather that the problem is somewhere else (eg glutes not working properly, shortened hip flexors from sitting too much) and the poor old back gives out trying to compensate. So I'm doing lots of psoas stretches and glute exercises among other things.

:tu: When my lower back goes, I work on the tendons in my right knee. I don't get any pain there, but it does create a problem which causes pain in my lumbar region. Once the right knee is fixed, the back will clear up within a day or two.

Nice spot there Kev  :tu:

Mines definitely my back. I broke L5 vertebra and crushed my spinal cord between L4 and L5.  Sitting bolt upright with a pillow behind me is the best position for reducing pain to the minimum.
This year my back has been the best it has been for years. At the UK meet it was great all weekend, even after putting up and taking down tents.

Rode to my mum's yesterday - started in Bristol after work, across the Severn, over the Black Mountains (and the edge of the Brecon Beacons national park) into mid Wales. A lovely afternoon out, but was under a bit of pressure to get there before the kids went to bed so I couldn't hang around. 95 miles and 6500 feet of climbing in 7 1/2 hours.

A bit less pleasant this morning - 26 wet and windy miles around the Elan Valley in Wales.

There's a view up there somewhere...

Tell you what, if I had places like that to hike I would never be home  :salute:

The farm on the outskirts of town where we hike has 300km+ of trails, so we mix it up a bit.

Been lazy/busy for 3 weekends, but at least we did 12km on Sunday.

We've booked the Khomas Highlands hiking trail for May 2018, easier logistics and a smaller increase in difficulty than the trail we originally considered

I recently went for a bike ride with my girlfriend and parents.
We passed a part that's called "riding through the water" which is called like that because the road goes underneath the water level.

Once on the trail, we were greated by 2 curious swans.

Such elegant creatures...

Why hello there!

It was a lovely day that I'll be remembering for a long time.

Just got back from 'vacation'. We were on a six day rally (around 60 cars, and the rally isn't about speed) through the Alps in Austria, Italy and Slovenia. Crossed a lot of beautiful mountain passes.

Don't have much photo's, I have a lot of video but still have to edit those.
