More bike riding today.  Met some friends for a spin in Somerset and Wiltshire.  Was a beautiful sunny day

The road in the top picture looks narrow!  how often do you see oncoming vehicles on those lanes?!

About 1 1/2 cars wide - pretty common in the UK.  Tend not to see too much traffic on those kind of roads and it's normally moving pretty slowly so there's no real bother.

Lots of good fir down at the local log sort at the moment so headed down there yesterday evening to get a start on next years firewood.

I should be doing the same but had to put the chainsaws back into the container thanks to a broken collar bone.

It's a 32" bar on a 76cc powerhead.  Got the saw a few years ago for a backcountry bridge building project I was doing (needed to cut a log of logs in the 30" diameter range).  The long bar's a bit overkill for getting firewood, when it's worn out I think I'll put a shorter one on, something around 24-28".  Definitely cuts wood fast though  :D.

Broken collar bone is not good, hope you heal up fast.

Big ride yesterday. 140 miles from Bristol out across the North Wessex Downs. Was only just above freezing when I set out at 6 am, never got above 5°C all day, strong cold northerly winds and it rained for the last 3 hours.

Didn't take the right clothing so was cold and wet for the second half of the ride, but did manage to eat and drink enough. No pics because it was too cold to take my gloves off, but the views were great, at least in the morning.
