Here is one I have on the way.

Did these older models with the grooved corkscrew and no hole in awl have hollow scales or solid plastic?

Can't speak for the Champ, but both my vics with fluted corkscrew and plain awl have the solid scales. Hope this helps. Is it one you are thinking of buying?

Small lifehack regarding LNF - if it present, scissors and main blade always be placed on the same axis, otherwise - on different :)

I have an older Champion with fluted corkscrew and plain awl.  If it has solid scales, can it be updated for the "plus" scales?

Yes, they'll be a straight swap. :)

From the pictures this model looks to be from about 1985. It should have solid, non-plus scales.

If it has solid scales i think i will just keep it as is and use the heck out of it.

I guess the next time i drop a 91mm hard enough to crack the scales I will then know where my emrald green 91mm plus scales are going

Nice score :tu:

A champion was my first 'larger' SAK, still lives in my bug-out-bag ready for service.
