victorinox xxlt find.
on: March 14, 2015, 01:04:17 AM
Good evening folks, long time lurker, great site that you have here. I've found somewhere that is selling a victorinox xxlt complete with box, some paper work,2pieces,and outer sleeve. The lighter sparks so I assume that it works. It's in mint as new condition and it's for sale. My question to you all is, is it worth getting? I've got a camp flame already and I know that they are a very rare tool. Thanks..

Greetings.   If cash isn't an issue and it appeals to you then go for it. What others do you have?

Hi ya, I've got the camp flame, a Swiss champ, a farmer, a electrician, a Swiss spirit, a Swiss tool, a rescue tool, a climber, a mini champ. And a few leathermans. Cash wouldn't be a problem, don't want to buy something that I'll not be able to sell on though.

If you're flipping it for the cash then that's your risk.
Nothing stopping you from passing on a good deal to those here who would keep it though.

It really depends on what the asking price is. XXLTs are unusual but not so super rare that you should buy the first one you see unless the price is unbeatable. Fair price on these is in the $400 range.

I've managed to duplicate all 3 of the Victorinox Butane Lighters. My own view is that these Butane models are gonna become really sought after one day. I always think of the next generation of collectors out there.

If it were me, I'd buy it and track down the Swissflame too. You'll then have the full set  :tu:

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I've found it for €225/$238/£161. I'll be getting it next time I visit that country. Now all I need to find is the missing third member of the family.

About 200miles round trip. It wasn't all about the knives, just around the corner is a small red light district, some rather pleasant sites to see, also some not so too :)
