Wenger Giant question
on: March 17, 2015, 12:07:27 AM
All my MT/SAK collection is stored out of the way in either shoe boxes or plastic containers.

All but one...

I deliberately left one of my Giants in the bookcase. Tonight, bored I decided to get it out and check out the pointer tool and at the same time close all the tools to save spraining the back springs, only to find it didn't contain the pointer tool. But what I did find was that this is the blunt bladed model whereas my other Giant that I bought new 2yrs ago from Heinnie Haynes contains all Razor sharp blades....ask me how I know!

I'm beginning to wonder if this blunt model was actually a shop display model before it came to me as I understand those were deliberately left unsharpened  for safety reasons.

Does anyone have any details on the production numbers of blunt versions.

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Mine is sharp. Plus some of the tools won't close cause they are not from a 85mm model. I know of 2 blunt ones now, yours and another.

The first model Giant had the pointer tool, the second one had the nail clippers.
Didn't know about this dull "feature" !

Thanks for that  :tu:

That makes both of mine 2nd generation.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

One or two of the blades are not from a 85mm knife. They stick out the other side if you try to close them. Example
