I think the Farmer is among the best outdoor tools Victorinox has to offer.
I would carry mine if I didn´t have the BuSchroder (a Farmer w/o opener layer).

PS I don´t really need the opener layer. Removal of the Farmer´s opener layer reduces the weight from 86.5 g (3.05 oz) to 62.8 g (2.22 oz) and the width from 14 mm (0.55 in) to 11 mm (0.43 in). Making it even more pocketable.

Nice one Ron  :tu:
...I need the opener layer though, it's so useful for lots of things.

:iagree: And most of those things have nothing to do with the intended main purpose of the tools  :D

It's a Wera 813 - you can get it around a tenner or for a couple of quid more you can get the 813R which has a quick release bit collar.

The magnet is very strong in both models.

Well somehow I ended up with one of these.  Awesome wee screwdriver bit handle.  Cheers for the recommendation Mags. (pic with blue Farmer to keep it relevant).

Lord, I might regret asking this; but is that a separate ratcheting head or is it a quick release?  Cool set-up either way.  8)

It's a bit holder with a lock/release feature.
Wera calls it Rapidaptor.

I've got it as part of the Wera Tool-Check PLUS which I can highly recommend  :pok:

And it doesn't include a PH 0

Great tool. I only wish that more kits included that size

Great looking set but, happily, I think I can put most of that together from bits and bobs I have kicking around. :)

Rainy day today so I got all the farmers together for coffee. I've got a couple of others still in the boxes, but they're duplicates anyways.
My 2 most carried tools are the farmer and the swisschamp, sometimes both at the same time. Most days the farmer can handle anything I need to get done.

I can’t recall if I ever officially joined this club. I probably did, but I’m going to do it again!

These are my two. They are from the run victorinox did in standard red around 2007/2008. One has seen some use and been relieved of its key ring. The other is new. They have the older 4 line tang stamp.

I’m not a fan of key ring nubs either. Here’s my silver farmer after its nubdectomy

Not sure if I’ve joined this club, but now it’s official  :ahhh
