probably just wishful thinking, but is there any way a Leatherman bit driver extension could be modded to fit onto either the phillips  screwdriver or the reamer/awl on a SAK Tinker?  thanks.......

oops...... I meant Leatherman bit adapter.  That'd be the one that slips over the phillips on certain Leathermans like the Juice.

wow......I looked over the four links and by golly, I am inspired!  thanks.  A two-part question for you who obviously knows more than I do: a. wouldn't it just spin on the Tinker's phillips, since it is pretty much round?  Or am I missing something?  b. Would it idea work un-modified on the awl?  Thanks so much again for the lingks.

I just tried it on a backlayered round Wenger phillips (only have two SAKs with backlayered phillips, not a fan of those, and both are Wenger) and it works fine. As for the backlayered awl, it works but wiggles a bit.

I really appreciate the info you've provided.  But how is it that it doesn't spin on the phillips?  If you could explain it, I'll probably sleep better tonight. :-)  thanks again

The hole that goes over the phillips tapers down so it's wider at the beginning and narrower further down. The wings of the phillips then fit snugly against the bit adapter and prevent it from spinning.
