Fantastic looking, as always!

So I'm just curious.

It seems like you went with a traditional SAK style tool to hold everything, but as much as you've stressed your scissors, had you considered making maybe a plier style tool but with a scissors head?  Similar to the Style CS, but closer to the Skeletool's size.   No doubt with your expertise you could fit a MEAN pair of shears into that puppy.

Thanks thetopher. Yes, I went with a pocket knife format this time around. Including this, I only have three SAK style tools. My Juice XE-6, my OHT and now this. That will probably be the extent of my SAK stlye tools as my needs will be met when this one is done. I am not a collector. What I have, I use. Not having scissors is always a deal breaker with me. Before I created the scissors for my Wave I actually did contemplate doing creating a scissor based multitool but opted to go a different route. I set out to create the largest scissors possible to fit into my Wave. The goal was to out do the Surge scissors in every way. Initially, the plan was not to make scissors but to swap from another tool. I even put feelers out at the time, asking around for scissors, any scissors, regardless of manufacturer etc. Honestly, none of them suited my needs and were nowhere near the size I was after. As for size... to give you a better example of just how big the Wave scissors are... from center of the pivot to end of cutting edge they are almost 1/4" longer than the plied head of a Skeletool. If I created a scissors based tool in the Skeletool type format, the scissors wouldn't even be much longer (if at all) than my Wave scissors. The only advantage would be that I could make them much thicker and robust. My Wave scissors ran circles around my Surge scissors, that is why the Surge scissors have found their way into my pocket knife. Slowly but surely, plans are being made for the new scissors I will fabricate for my Surge. If after creating my new Surge scissors I feel my needs haven't been met, I may contemplate a different format/form factor of a scissors based tool but honestly don't see that happening as I have been more than pleased with my Wave scissors on all levels and the Surge scissors will be even larger. Hope this helps.....

Hey gang. Evil here again. First off, my apologies for posting this almost a year late. I started this particular project right around the time I left MTO for quite a while. Rather than repeating a lot of what I originally said, for those of you unfamiliar with the project, you can go to the first post of this thread to read more about it. For the past year, this has been my go-to-tool when I didn't want to carry a plier based tool. Light and compact and yet it can hang with the big boys. It has been to hell and back, used and abused ever since, pulling through unscathed.....

~ evil ~

1: Serrated knife with thumbstud and guthook, 2: Saw, 3: Scissors, 4: File.....

1: Monstrous tactical awl. Double-edged, blade sharp spear tip, 2: Locking tab and close-up of custom fasteners, 3: Three inch onboard double ended screwdriver that locks in three positions (90,135 & 180 degrees), 4: close-up view of the multi-position locking mechanism, also in view on left side is thumbstud for knife.....

A few random views. Still never came up with a name for it to let loose with some freehand engraving on the sides.....

1: Close-up of lanyard hole, 2: Cut-out for nail nicks to deploy scissors and awl, 3-4: Yet a few more random views.....

Various views of the clip system and lanyard hole/plate also useful for self-defense. Spear tip shape on plate added for a touch of evilness, of course.....

Penny comparison shot and tools fanned out shot.....

Well that's just perfect! Those are some sexy sex bolts you've made there. What was the LM donor model? I want to make one of these for myself.  :D

And if you want replacment LM pivots I have found that these work well.

I sand a flat spot on one side and it's a perfect replacement for Wave pins. If you want them longer for other tools you can do a search for 3/16" stainless standoff.

Thanks nuphoria, long time no see. Thanks Frog. Thanks enki (The hammer is on my Skeletool lol). Thank you Captain! I appreciate all of your comments.....

Thank you bushido. At the time I had issues sourcing bolts, that, and I got somewhat impatient, so, I ended up making my own. Most of the parts were donated from a ST300. After I modded my  Surge with ST300 plier head, the ST300 got the Surge plier head. I tried to sell the ST300 with no takers. Hell, I woulda sold it to a fellow forum member for next to nothing. It was almost if I couldn't even give it away. I took this as a cosmic message to tear it apart and make something out of it that I would actually make use of  >:D The scissors are discards from the same Surge. I am slowly making my way around to my Surge project again. Thank you for the link   :salute:  Over the past year, I have sourced a few bolts from similar sites.....

Thank you for the praise ironraven as well as the name suggestions   :tu:

Do you have plans for the other half of that ST300? I have a Wave that I can't seem to give away that I'd trade you for it.

The handle has been M.I.A. for a little while, but, then again, I haven't really cleaned in a while either. I will look for it over the weekend. If I find it, consider it yours. If I even remotely thought someone would have an interest in it, I would have kept track of it. I do however have miscellaneous Leatherman parts, some Gerber parts, a few SOG parts and miscellaneous generic SAK type parts.....

Well, apparently there is some good news and some bad news.....

The good news, is that I found the other half buried in the workshop......

Now for the bad news.....

In hindsight, I am pretty sure that I used that metal at that time for the lanyard hole/plate. Sad part is that I have sheets of metal laying around I could easily have used instead.....

With all of the projects I have going on with my real work, I shouldn't even be messing with multitools etc lol... but, I need an outlet. Working on these multitools has become my distraction.....

Since my return, I have had a lot of catching up to do and updating on projects. This is another project people have been requesting an update on. Digging deep in the forums.....

I am pleased to report that this tool has proven to be my most reliable non plier workhorse over the years. It has handled everything I have thrown at it. After all these years, I still never got around to giving it a name. Given that fact, it has never felt 100% done. I'd like to change that and finally come up with a name for it, so I can engrave it and come full circle with this project.....
