Well i finally got my old camera up and running so i gave it a little test run, and it does macro quite well as it turns out! Needs decent lighting, and the flash tends to be obscured by the lens barrel but it works :)

does anyone know what the B1 stands for on the philips driver on the Kick?

My SS Kick says A1. My BO Kick says B1 though.

This has cropped up before on here I think, with various letterings on various tools. The best theory I can recall was that they are machine / batch numbers, so any faults or defects can be traced back to their source. Only a theory though AFAIK.

I used to come here a lot.

they have an interesting thread over at BF about "what's the big deal with the Farmer" and many didn't know
the Alox models have bigger/thicker blades then regular SAKs.

Can anyone take some decent macro shots of the difference?
I don't have good macro equipment to do it justice.

I'll transfer the pix over if you don't (and don't mind, with due credit) thx  ;)

I only have a Climber to compare it to, would that be suitable?

A little limited because of the small opening jaws, but a great tool none the less.
