That's really nice looking axe. I like it.

You could cut that end of the handle off, and make new pommel maybe out of some darker wood...

Its only Ash so I'm not going to bother with it too much, (Ash is very good at splitting  ::) )

Got home early and did it  >:D

As you can see I couldn’t drill the last holes on the right as the steel was too hard  :ahhh



Hacked it about a bit with a disc cutter, splashing a load of water about to keep the steel cool
