My 20+ year old SwissChamp SOS
on: April 26, 2015, 01:45:12 PM
This was bought in the early 90s and was played with a bit, and, was basically lost for about 20 years.
I found it and here are some pictures for you to enjoy.
It comes with all the SOS kit's tools still inside, practically unused.
Fluted corkscrew, plus scales, old style file and lens and no hook- as it was made at the time

Very cool!

Now we need the back story.  How was it lost and where did you find it? :)

It was just somewhere in the house but I did not know where until I was told that there were some more knives etc. in a drawer....

I am still missing quite a few knives; some have been missing for 30 years....

Not a very exciting story  :D

I got the swisschamp for the equivalent of 100 euros/dollars at the time....

I believe your SOS is older than DKS's.It has the older pouch that mine has and I purchased it in 1989 for the princely sum of $89.95.

The back of the pouch has 4.0567 stamped on it.

Wow, I can only imagine the rush you got when you found it, I lost my sak in the woods and found it in a year by accident, but to find something after 20+ years, wow..

I have one which I purchased in the mid eighties. The pouch has fallen apart and the knife is now carried in a modern pouch without the pockets for the honing bar and compass,
Simplon.
Now where did I leave my knife?

I don't do anything at all when something goes missing. That is usually the fastest and easiest way to find it again...

I made an exception when a relative of mine went missing last year ;)

I have found that buying a replacement usually flushes out the missing item very quickly (and I then have a spare  )
