No blade Multitools - SAKS
on: April 30, 2015, 09:25:01 PM
I propouse a new thread, I don´t know if it has been discussed:

Could you please give examples of custom or bladesless multitools - SAKs?

LM Style PS

SWISS TECH tools:

The LM Leap it would be an intermediate, with only saw...

But I refer to strictly NO BLADES MULTITOOLS-SAKs  :multi:

Customized SOGs and LM could be a nice addition!  :gimme:

Thanks!

P.S.: Scissors and belt cutter blades (protected in V shape) ARE ALLOWED

P.S.2.: I am thinking of a mod...

The Knifeless Charge. Just replace the saw with scissors etc.

Hey Folks

Sorry - Slight digression and don't want to hijack the thread as I know there has been much discussion on this. But can someone tell me if I correct in this??

All these bladeless tools are great for countries (eg UK, Oz) or places (eg schools) where they have very strict blade control regulations.

However even when they have strict blade control laws eg UK/Oz - As long as it is: Non locking; Non one handed opening; Blade is less than 3 inches - You will normally be OK with a blade (eg regular SAK) - Although this is a risk you take

However they are useless for air travel - As most airport security organisations will take scissors off you too - even the wee Classic scissors.
So to be totally air travel acceptable you have to be blade and scissor free.
- Or do different countries have different regs.?

As such I never really understood the Vic Jetsetter set

And/or .... Why go bladeless?
As it is very often the most used tool on a SAK/MT?

Air-travel: Best option, nothing that even resembles a tool. Despite the fact that there are many places where you are allowed to take SAKs aboard (e.g. inter-Europe flights), the problem is, its a judgment call of the TSA-officer and if he is in a bad mood he can take away anything.

It is my understanding that in the UK, if someone feels threatened the knife is illegal. So you are at the mercy of everybody. So basically, even the whimsy classic could qualify as weapon.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I think the uk law is open too interpretation, some people think that even the non locking pst would be iligal as when the blades out and the handles are closed it acts as a lock as restricts the blade closing,i asked a policeman friend and he said most policemen wouldnt close the handles, but he said you might get one that does,he also told me that you are less likely to get pulled upvwith a sak/ mt as there a handy tool,he carries a spirit himself,as said before if you get it out in public to cut a apple and someone gets scared then you might have a proble, hey i was sitting outside a swimming pool and a elderly chinese lady pulled out a kitchen knife too cut up her apple,i wasnt scared as thought how cool it was  :D

My €5 SwissMemory:

Also, I remember a bladeless 91mm SAK that was handed out to employees of some Victorinox flagship store (London I think) but I'm not sure.
Also, how did they solve the back scale problem without a blade layer?
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.
