How heavy is it?

I haven't weighed it.  But Remington says the rifle is 7.5lbs... and the scope is about 1.5lbs according to Nikon.

I know what you are doing wrong.  You draw the rings after you shot not before, rookie mistake.

Learn to shoot right handed... it's what I did

Makes buying a rifle a hell of a lot easier.  Plus you can screw with people when you shoot just as good with your "off hand"

I dunno...when I try doing some things with the other hand it feels mighty awkward.

My right hand is only there for the symmetry. Beautiful rifle,are you going to work up any special loads for it?

I remember reading about this very high quality rifle that has at least ten or so options for pretty much every different part (how long you want the barrel to be, etc.)   Anyway, it is only for left handed people. It is also about 5,000 CHF.

I dunno...when I try doing some things with the other hand it feels mighty awkward.

Not that I've shot anything in many years, but it always felt a bit funny as I'm right handed but have to shoot left handed as my right eye doesn't focus.

I am left eye dominant, but I can manage with my right eye for rifles.  Pistols I shoot canted as my left eye naturally wants to take aim.

I'm more partial to Leupold scopes than Nikon Mikey, but at least you got the right brand of mounts.

The original plan was to put a Leupold on it... but after some recent experiences with some other Nikon products (camera and binoculars) I decided to give their scope a try.  (Plus it was cheaper )  The gunsmith that mounted the scope puts Leupold mounts on everything, so I didn't have much of a choice there...

Aside from the first time shooting the rifle... I haven't been able to get back out.  I'm going to try to get out again this week, but it'll be hard with both kids at home   Once school starts I'll be able to get out more.
