Remember the Buck X-Tracks?
on: August 27, 2024, 05:43:06 AM
I was looking through my knife drawers and came across something that I forgot about. A relative gave me this when I was young. It may have been one of my first multitools actually! It’s a really neat design. Sliding pliers (light duty only, really), full size OHO blade, drivers are on a really cool slider system. All the tools lock as well. Would be cool to see this line come back again with some updates. I think it could do quite well in the EDC market.

I remember.  I've been on the lookout for a Buck 735 X-tract Essential.  I'd seen one on fleaBay a while back so I took a stab at it, but then bidding got pretty nutty so I bowed out early on.
May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Those were around when I started collecting back in 2008. It is something you don't see much of. Mind you, one can say that about all of the Buck multi-tools.

Is the 732 the one with scissors? That takes it to a whole other level IMO

Yes it is. The name tells you it was aimed at the fishing folks.

Those were my formal introduction into the multitool world, and then by extension, this place, as I was reading up on them.

My father got me one when I was in High School. It was the standard model but with rubberized camo scale.

Honestly kinda dug it for what it was, knife was good and I liked the drivers except if I remember the big lanyard loop obstructed a bit. I don't know what happened to mine sadly:/
