Charge TTi Modified
on: September 06, 2008, 07:02:58 PM
After some help and inspiration from a very generous Kwakster, and a lot of patience fiddling with tiny washers I would like to show you my modified Charge Tti.

The reason for the mod is use the Charge mostly for electrical work. Whether it be wiring in new sockets or light switches in the home. The cap crimper especially when working with wiring on the car. But I’d always get stumped when it came to recessed screws.

Along with changing the two bit changers to long reach Philips and flat blade screwdriver, I have made a few changes to the large flat blade screwdriver. I have filed the width down to 5mm, and tapered the end so it is 0.5mm thick. The two changes let me use the screwdriver on a greater range of flat head screws.

I hope you guys like it and thanks again Kwakster.

Beautyous! I'm really thinking Leatherman should offer that configuration as an option! Nice work cj! 8)

Say, did you have to grind any clearance onto the phillips in order to have the tool fold up completely?
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

That is really nice!

I don't think there is room, but for me, it would be amazing if you could also swap the can opener for a bit driver. Then you have the best of both worlds!

This is an excellent configuration as is though, since you can always just use the bit extender kit on the phillips. Great work!  :salute:

Nice mod CJ!

I guess you can still use the removable bit driver on the phillips too, so not much of a trade off - good thinking!

I used to come here a lot.

Glad you all like it.

I had to grind the philips screwdriver down a small amount to allow the handles to close properly. I've included a few photos to show you.

Nice job - looks good,  excellent configuration of tools.
Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !
