"carved" metallic scaled SAKs
on: June 07, 2015, 08:17:47 PM

I admired colt 1911's carved vic above so much I stumbled onto the following and couldn't pass.  I don't know if they are bimetal, stainless & brass or gold plate or what.  Anybody know?  They sure are pretty.

PM me if you want one of my kidneys for your SOG TiNi multitool.

OK, both my kidneys.

How about a kidney or my first born child for the Luzern SAK? That is perhaps the prettiest SAK I've ever seen! I was there in the early 70's. One of the lovliest places on the planet!

Bad deal... Those Luzern SAKs are usually cheaper than an average kidney :D

Hm.. I wonder if these are legit? http://cart100.com/Product/21338040693/
I mean I don't think the scales are factory-issue from the start so Chinese mod wouldn't be impossible...

No, never been able to get her to fetch anything. Playing dead?? Only if falling asleep on the couch counts.

Those have to be knockoffs. Just to many "rare" variations and no pics of the tang stamps. At those prices, I wouldn't take a chance.

I think it`s genuine but they`re showing as N/A. I`ve got a few of these knives and they are quite impressive.

Those are done by a small Swiss company by the name of Edisona. They only sell to Swiss retailers, and I've never found a mail order source. There are about 60 - 70 different handles.

Good to know, ColoSwiss.  It appears there are 4 variants of each image type.  Old Silver, silver background with gold foreground, and gold background with silver foreground.  They also sometimes have enamel accents.  There is also a pocket watch set variant.

I am also buying the following statue of liberty.

This Canadian seller is on ebay.  He has several mostly old siver models left I will post photos I have if anyone is interested.

Here is an ebay auction of his, pocket watch, spartan, and chain set.  Anyone can initiate contact with him through this auction via "ask seller a question".  He seems like a reputable dealer.  I have dealt with him before and even worked through a problem with complete satisfaction.

They are lush! Why oh why are there so many to collect? It does my head in. How are we supposed to be happy with the ones we have if there are so many other brilliant ones??

Having read this thread again I think the photos of the Luzern were taken by myself when I sold it last year. What goes around, eh?

Those are widely available in Switzerland and run at 55 to 65 CHF/USD a piece. At 100 CHF + shipping they are way overpriced.
