Just read the thread, I think there is nothing wrong with it, its just an opinion. Its just some guys/gals are purist and some are mods.

I think modding a knife shows appreciation for the manufacturer...think about it this way...how huge of a scene is there with car and truck modders?  If someone modifies their Cadillac and makes it look really sharp with add ons (or sometimes really goofy ), does that mean they don't like/respect Cadillac?

I can understand where he is coming from. I would much rather have say, a well cared for Model T in original condition than a restored one, even if done by an expert and looked like new. Something still would be missing.

But here we are talking about current production and not an antique.

I think he's a nut and I said so in the SOSAK forum as well If he doesn't like it then he doesn't have to have 1 IMHO He may have an opinion about it but that doesn't mean anybody wants to listen That's like me telling him that having a knife is stupid or something Ppl should have stayed with flint knifes can't believe they went to metal I mean if a person buys something and wants to change it I don't think it is my business to tell them they can or can't just my 2 cents worth

Oh well, it's his opinion and I suppose he's entitled to it right or wrong. But it is kind of nice that there is one less person to compete with for cool mods.
