I was just thinking of one of my other candidates that being the TK10 advertised as waterproof to IPX8 standard whatever that means.I will have plenty of time to make up my mind as my slush fund has taken a beating with car repairs due to our great british roads
Well, at least Fenix has given you a tested standard. I still don't consider that "water proof" though. To me, "water proof" means the thing just is not going to be penetrated by water.
Here are a couple of the standards. You can read up on them here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_CodeIPX-7Protected against water immersion - Immersion for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter.
IPX-8Protected against water submersion - The equipment is suitable for continual submersion in water under conditions which are identified by the manufacturer.
So, IPX 8 means that it is better than IPX 7, by some conditions "identified by the manufacturer".
Now.... Would you consider that "water proof", or "water resistant"?
