  Am no longer a Tread owner. About a year ago I went with a Fitbit and there really was no room to wear the Tread. It helped on some projects here and there, yet it went often unused. A facebook friend, Tracy R. wanted one a while back but the guy is a solo parent and raising two daughters. His advice over time was welcomed, and he would occasionally send me things that I couldn't find here. So, to make his day, I sent my Tread to him last week. :D

I made my own stainless steel clutches. They are no longer corrosion. Sorry I do not speak very well English. (I´m from Czech Republic)

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Tread. Our tread is made out of a 400 series steel which is able to rust without proper cleaning. With the aggressive sweat on the hands and not rinsing an drying every day this could be the cause of the rust. You can clean it with WD-40 and a scotch bride pad. I would recommend rinsing and drying after every use. I hope this is helpful.

THX, I tried a bit. :D My Tread corrosion occurred after 45 days of continuous use.My parts are still the same for 8 months (continuous use)  :)

No one is going to wash the Tread after every use :facepalm:  LM should have made a wearable MT much more corrosion resistant IMO :ahhh And your English is great to me :salute: Those links you name really look great as well :like: :like:

Holy Sh.. I discovered today my Tread is rusting too. The links turn black and get full of tiny dents and holes.  I cleaned it almost every weekend. But with no succes.

Fine Quality Leatherman.....not.
Almost 200 euro's down the drain.

Why the f... selling a wristband thats cannot withstand humans sweat..  Like selling a umbrella for use at dry days only.......

The bitten out metal is something that occurs on the back of a cheap metalic watch as well and is caused by the salt in sweat...

Shouldn't be allowed to happen with a €200 tool.

Leatherman states to clean it everyday? Do they clean their $200 watch everyday?! :rant:

This is not good.  I sure hope LM covers this under warranty if thats an option for you and more importantly RESOLVES this.

i'm angry as hell.
 i found something shiny on the carpet, looled like a small roll bearing and it got my attention.
guess what, it was the glass breaker piece from my Tread.
after 1 month, wearing it. i do not know how to proceed further, honestly i would want my money back

picture. i wrote to Leatherman.com and.ro. i have sent the bracelet and demanded my money back. problem is that i really find that particular link indispensable, and if the issue pops out i will find muself paying a separate link for each send-in for repair. let's see what happens
