right, so, leonardo needed some clothes . . . i have no leather in the house suitable to make a sheath and was wondering what to use. So, doing a tidy up and found an old pair of wellies that were too small for my youngest and one of the puppies had decided to use as a chew toy so couldn't give them away to a neighbours kid.
So decided we'd give a go at making a sheath out of the rubber.
Firstly, cut a piece of rubber to size using the serrated blade on my wave, folded it and drilled holes in it for the rivets - used aluminum rivets with washers to stop them pulling through.
once that was done, the question was how to secure it - we were going to use press studs but no way were they heavy enough to punch through the rubber so we decided on a paracord tie with a clip which my daughter made for me.
used some gorilla glue around the edges to seal them, currently that curing, then will use either gorilla or duct tape to cover the rivets. It's a rough job, but hopefully it'll be functional.
