Well i finally found 2 new yellow and 2 new gray KF4's and they arrived today. I am quiet happy with them. The yellow is not really yellow, its more of a light greeny colour. I think i am more impressed with the KF4 than i thought i was going to be. If you like the KF4 tool set then i would highly recommend it as the quality is very good. Ok yeah the awl could be pointier but im sure its not too hard to sharpen a little. Very tight plier head pivot which i like to see. Pity they cant make the PS4 and P4's tight like that. i think i will buy the orange juice what ever that is S4? just to test out its capabilities before ruin one of my KF4's, just so i know how much abuse they can take. Now i need to figure out how to use the diamond file. That is the fine side right?

Yes.    :)

You'll be after a S2, I think.

Yep i checked back and that was the one i was going to get too.

I am really impressed with the quality of the KF4. I was not sure what to expect as i had read a lot of negative comments about the Juice line and i was a little let down by the squirts but very impressed with the Mini.

I dont know why they made them so slippery though. Its like a bar of wet soap!

They are rather shiny.... been toying with the sacrilegious idea of rouging my KF4 scales up. I have been carrying it quite a lot and have fallen totally back in love with it for EDC.

Although the yellow has a lot of fans, I'm not really one of them! :D

Boo  :pok:

Solar Yellow is my favourite colour in the Juice range and it is what drew me to the KF4 along with its excellent tool selection  :tu:

Now if I were presented with a green KF4 or a yellow KF4 I may explode in indecision  :o :ahhh :ahhh

I kinda like the yellow colour although i would not call it a sun or solar yellow. Mine has a slight greenish tinge to it.

Today i actually thougth of a way to add some grip. You can get this sort of textured stick on sheet of stuff from hardware/home improvement stores that is ment for sticking down on decking and around pools etc so people dont slip and i think it would be good to cut out in the shape of the handles and stick it on for some grip. It would also protect the handles. I have no idea why they made it so slippery. I have never felt annodizing that is so slippery before.

Just picked up my SC2 and it doesn't feel too bad, so perhaps with a little use yours will stop being quite so slippery.

I'm still EDCing my KF4, even though I know I won't be able to replace if if I lose it or break it. Perfect little tool - please bring it back!

I was quite nervous about EDCing mine until I came upon a beater KF4  :ahhh :tu:

So I have a back up queen and beater out with me daily  :D

In a perfect world you'd buy at least two of each multi / knife. If you were to send the KF4 in under warranty you would probably end up with a CS4

I asked this site but they would only sell me them in lots of 50 ???

http://www.freshpromotions.com.au/automotive/leatherman-tools/juice-k-f-4-leatherman-tool.html

i find it hard to believe they would have 50. If i had the $ i could try and get them and distibute them on here.

You missed out. There was a guy selling about twenty of them for $55+shipping a few months ago and a bunch of folks here bought it. I think Sazabi still has one for sale over here.

Yeah, the only problem is that I paid more for mine from a gun and knife show; I was tired of seeing it sitting in the same dealer's display for three plus years now... I wish I was joking. :/

Yes, that guy was selling it very cheap. Most of the NIB ones sold prior and post that listings were in the $70 range. I'm thinking of selling mine too at some point, I need to liquidate some things and I doubt I'd let it go for less than that. Al sold his last week for £70~$110 just days after listing it (his was the USA stamped one though). I can't believe you still haven't sold yours.

I got my KF4 a couple days ago, and I've been carrying it ever since. Would be cool to see it brought back, or maybe something similar. How about a SF4? Pretty much an S2 with a saw, file, and awl on the back side. Anyway, I took of the scales because they were beyond beat and I think the skeletonized stainless steel looks great.

Just rip them off! Hah

There's a few others out there that have done it on this site, it really looks best on the tools that have no corkscrew, because of the way the liners are cut. The rivets need to be peened to take up the the looseness that develops. Anyone who tries it needs to be careful not to overdo it, it could be easy to ruin a tool if you go Tarzan on it.

Can someone please confirm if there were KF4's with just 'Leatherman' on the plier head and no USA or TOOL?

Little worried i may be buying fakes if they just have Leatherman.

I weighed 2 of mine and i get 153 and 154g. LM site says 165g. Do they normally quote weights that are this far out? Or maybe its a typo?

I have a KF4 with just Leatherman on it, but the bottom engraving, whatever it was, has been grinded out.

There are some Leathermans with the USA milled out because of a Ca. lawsuit. Some KF4 plier heads recieved this treatment at that time. Here is a pic of the three USA, milled, TOOL) KF4 plier heads.     :)

I just lucked into a KF4 at a pawn shop here in Clackamas. Looks to be in almost unused condition aside from pocket carry wear to the scales and a bit of gunk inside. $40.

Good one. :multi:

I don't know if you use electric razors, but the little black brushes that come with them are about the best thing I've found for cleaning that kind of stuff out of a tool. Compressed air works good too. :)

I had some pretty good results using a foam-tipped cleaning swab.
