This was a useful site to visit for reference but there`s no sign of it now. It`s obviously been taken down, does anybody know what happened?

Been down for several months now...was invaluable for a quick visual check of ALOX models/numbers. I had hoped it's disappearance was temporary. Saved a few pages in the 93mm section...wished I had saved them all.

Nothing is lost once it's posted on the Internet...

https://web.archive.org/web/20141219000912/http://aloxworld.com/AloxWorld/AloxWorld__The_world_of_Victorinox_Alox_Swiss_Army_Knives.html

I tried that a few months ago too. The problem is that it only crawled his main page and none of the others :(

The photos have been lost but everything else is available.
...including all sub pages

Since the photos were the links to sub pages (and the photos are no longer there) all that you have to do is select (highlight) the page and you will see "shadows" of where the photos   Once were. Hover your mouse cursor over a shadow and the pop up will explain where the link (which is still active) will re direct you.  Click on the shadow and it will load the linked page.

Do this once or twice and navigating the site is easy.

Like I said, the photos are gone  but the full text is still visible.

I tried contacting Bernard a while back but haven't gotten a reply yet. It would be cool if we could incorporate some of he info gathered there into SAKwiki or if someone else (Derek showed interest for it) took over the site if Bernard lost interest in it.

It would be good if SAKwiki were Creative Commons licensed like Wikipedia to help avoid this kind of thing.

I've tried to contact him multiple times on multiple venues but no luck. Would love to purchase the information from him and continue to expand the information that he had gathered.

I wonder why someone who was obviously a big fan of alox SAKs would take down the website and  disappear.
