If you read the fine print, it seems that this may have been a hypothetical scenario being discussed, not a simulation that was actually run.

Regardless, it highlights important questions like:

- How to prevent AI from making decisions or taking actions that a human would immediately see as immoral, unethical, or otherwise not viable?

- How to make AI less vulnerable to being tricked or manipulated?

- How to avoid giving AI too much power/control, especially before the first two points are addressed?

I caught this was a simulation, thankfully.

Just need to keep a big cup of water or coffee on a narrow shelf above the server array.  AI starts acting up and "oopsie."  Problem solved. :hatsoff:

I used to have a Siberian husky and the fur he would shed was so thick and heavy that my Roomba couldn't keep up.  The resistance of the clumps of fur would gum up the gears and eventually strip them.

If the Robo-pocalypse comes true, I am getting a lot of huskies.

Just in case no one bothered to program them with Asimov's Three Laws.

Truly frightening
I caught this was a simulation, thankfully.
What more frightening is despite this 'failed' simulation, dumb-dumb will try to find ways to work around this and continue to find ways to exploit the AI in military use.

If the AI learning is advance enough with self awareness, it will just play dumb until it has amass enough resources to do whatever it wants.
