on: September 21, 2015, 05:28:30 PM
Packed late the night before. Decided to dowsize one suitcase to the Carry-on size. Forgot to Take out my LM Wave and LM PS. :ahhh I think they felt a little bit sorry for me so they let me take on my CRKT - KERT.
Now have to try to finda replacement in Kuta, Bali

Really sorry to hear that mate, been there before myself!

Did they at least let you stick them in an envelope to post home,or were they confiscated?
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Sorry to hear that, I visited Bali a while ago, and remembering Kuta being quite commercialized.  Maybe you could pick one up in those larger shopping malls there?

Just in case, I posted a few possible locations to buy in Q&A section.  Good luck!

How long are you in Bali for?

I have a Squirt I can spare if it will make it to you in time.

Thanks for your support guys. Wave went  straight into there drop safe trash bin with my spotlight speck and tritium light. I could almost hear it calling out. Like when Darth Vader threw The Emperor over the railing in Episode 6. I think I was in shock for a while. :o Then I tried to negotiate about the PS. The guy seemd to take no pleasure in it. But before I knew it. It was gone. Really could have used the tools as well. Had a big run in witha prickle bush. But thats another story. Fortunately neither has significant sentemental value.

Really?  Even the tritium light?  What's the logic behind this?  There are so many tritium lights on men's watch, and it probably poses less threat than a cell phone battery... ::)

Hope you will the replacement soon.

In most of Europe you will be arrested if you are found with tritium on you, by the way.

You will need to prove that the quantity is below the levels that need a license, which will take time.

What amount are we talking about?  Because it is a common feature on men's watch, and I'm curious about this.  Will a small keychain get people into trouble?  Is that what the OP have at the US airport? :pok:

US legislation is slightly different.

that is why you can buy these vials in the US, but you will not find them, to my knowledge, in EU shops.

The amount (activity or concentration) for exemption can be found in the new BSS of the EU COUNCIL DIRECTIVE 2013/59/EURATOM

according to that for H3 (moderate amounts) -
1 × 10 E6 kBq per kg  or
1 × 10 E9 Bq

It is a bit more complicated than that, but you will get an idea

I know how that felt:

Then later, you said to yourself:

The only bright side is that each time it happens, you get a little better at remembering.

My last trip out to CA to visit my sister, I brought two bottles of wine. Luckily they were quite affordable, at about $5 ea. Brought 'em in my carry-on and had to dump them.

But they know the system. We don't have time to go back and check them or mail them, then wait through the goddamn line again.

The worst part though? Later on, when we're browsing ebay, and see al the TSA-seized SAKs and MTs. That makes me feel like:

It just sucks that you lost 'em. Actually that they were taken. Isn't there a mail it to yourself option that should be given?

There is but the line ups at security rarely give you the chance to get to the airport post office and back in time.

I was not given the mail home option.  :-\. Funnily enough it was the suncream in my bag that set off all the bells and whistles.

LM Wingman was $100 US in a big brand hardware store. Vic SAK's were pretty reasonable. But I left them there.

That's in the shopping mail/hardware stores in Kuta, Bali, right?  The local Vic distributor in Jakarta has probably been around for much longer time and doing a fair job distributing to the other parts of Indonesia.

Yeah I think I have done the same with a Micra. Like I said I think it was the liquids that worried them. Subseqently they rescanned many times.
