Same here.  It is rare for me indeed to ever actually need EDC pliers.  But I still like have the PS4's pliers in my pocket just in case. I (we?) have this strange compulsion to avoid being unprepared.

Yep. The weirdest thing ever I needed pliers for was.... zipping up my boots. The zipper pull broke, so there was no way I could ever hold and pull the zipper up with my fingers. Then the PS4 pliers came to the rescue :D

Today I had a student come to me because there were two staples jamming up the stapler - my trusty E4 did the trick, allowing me to get the staples out and stapler working again.

Then, later, used the flathead on the E4 to pry something off of the wall. A student needed a paper off of the wall but didnt want to tear the paper, pryed the staple out.

Use of the plier to untight a leather strap on my horse saddle.

The plier leaves dent marks on the leather, but i don't care, and it was quite hard to do under a heavy rain.

Okay, I'm thinking about officially giving up the challenge, though  :facepalm: :D

I'm just feeling overly and unnecessarily stressed out trying to use ONLY the Squirt given I've got kitchen knives around or my Ambi. I think I proved for myself that using only the Squirt is absolutely possible and you can go with just it only forever if need be.

But all that picture-taking, uploading, posting, starting to do a task and thinking: Oh wait, brb for my cam; it's getting a bit boring and turning into an obligation, OCD, strain, something I don't like overall lol  :ahhh

Moreover, less than a month ago i got a Gerber Dime and I haven't been able to use it and fully enjoy it because of the challenge :D :D  :twak:

So, at 18 days, I'll leave the contest to the most stubborn ones :D Good luck  :cheers:

Sit tight and hold on, I feel what you feel, it is not easy but that is why it is a challenge.

I found myself reaching out for dedicated tools a lot more, like kitchen knives and can opener, just easier and less messy.

I managed to open a can using just the screw drivers, see below link.

It's fun to see different takes on this. Obi is just going ham, and having a grand old time, others miss their edc variation (the reason I couldn't do this even if I had a squirt :D ), still others are getting it done without much fanfare, presumably too enamored with how the tiny tool can do it all  :rofl:

I like seeing everyone's different takes on the challenge.

NNR, Kampfer, and others: I share your pain. Most of the day I've been thinking about dropping out of this challenge - I really miss carrying my SAK and a tool with bigger pliers. I'm pretty sure my MP600 is starting to feel lonely...

But, after reading todays posts, I've decided to continue. I'll be damned, if I let this challenge get the best of me. We've all managed to get this far in the challenge, we are more than half way there. 12-13 days remaining, we can do this!

"challenge" is a strong word for the whole idea of this, if it has to be called a challenge, it's like 1/1000 000th degree of the challenges that real life gives us. I'd rather consider it a fun idea, don't give a damn about it and don't pretend I'm fulfilling my life's goal by doing this or failing my future and life by not doing this :D In other words, I haven't and I'm not taking it seriously, it was fun, I tried, got bored, now I'm leaving it.
