does any of u have 93 mm vics in pieces and 91 mm too,and could u take pics of the backprings side by side.

id like to know and see how hard it is to modify the cams etc to have pliers from 91mm  in to 93mm frame.

im doin it anyway, regarldless of what u say  :D

I like it !!!!

Use 2 saw backsprings from alox knives side by side to make the pliers work.    They will need a smal flat spot sanded where the plier tips hit them to make the pliers sit right when its closed.

You'll have to drill the pivot hole out to 3.05mm and reshape the pliers handle like the picture to make them seat in the knife right.

Go at it man.   I see a SAK, I take it down (to parts).

Here's a little more alox info for adding 91mm tools to the alox frame.

Add file - Use 91mm file drilled to 3.05mm with alox saw backspring
Scissors - Use 91mm scissors and 91mm scissors backspring (hook type) - drill pivots on tool and backspring to 3.05mm
Magnifyer/ phillips - Use 91mm mag and phillips drilled to 3.05mm with alox mainblade backspring.   Phillips goes on tall lobe
Pliers - Use 91mm pliers drilled to 3.05mm with 2 alox saw backsprings.    Machine handle to fit and backsprings for pliers tip landing.
Fish scaler - Use 91mm scaler drilled to 3.05mm with alox saw backspring and .015in spacer shaped like keyring spacer

Will regular drill bit work or would carbide/diamond tipped bit necessary? I tried to drill a knife blade once, even my best cobalt bit can't scratch it.

Having used Bill's (Scibeer) alox mods I can assure you that they work as well as the vic factory pliers. Good luck with your mod and post pics when you are done

The cobalt bits do pretty well if you anneal the tang you're drilling with a torch.   If its fully hardened, nothing really works unless you go through 4 or 5 bits and then it only works because you heat up the area and draw some of the hardness out.    Carbide tipped bits are not much better than regualar ones.    Solid carbide is about the only way to go to do it right and I have a BIG collection of burnt up drill bits to prove it.     :D :o
