Maglite 4D battery adapter?
on: September 03, 2015, 12:21:08 PM
Hi Everybody

I was given a 4D Maglite a while ago by a friend leaving the country, it has the LED lamp, and on a hunch I found at least 2 of the batteries had started leaking already.

Long story short, I rarely use it so I'm not going to replace the batteries just to forget and eventually end up with an eaten-from-the-inside light.....

I've seen adapters for C and D-cell torches to AA, this was another brand and my google-foo has never been strong enough to find anything for Maglites.

This is the only way I can see myself using the torch, any ideas?

Eneloop has some:

or, just buy some rechargeable D batteries, from e.g. LIDL.

GG.  I live 90 mi from Maglite in Ontario Ca, (LA area). I have been using them since the beginning. They have a great warranty, If batteries in a light have leaked, send it in, they give you a new light. I have got a 'stock' of Maglites from friends who are too lazy to send them in, I return them in person. They used to do this for 3 battery Mfgrs. Now only two. I think Everready, and Duracell. So, when you find either of these two brands, corroded and leaking (and you may verify this first, before you go to all the trouble,) just pop them in your corroded light, and send it back to them, they will replace it. I think the third company will refund your money after you buy a new light. Ask Esther, or Service on this. Just install the correct brand of corroded battery, send the light back, and get a new one. I have a stash of lights I got this way. They are donors for Modded Maglites.          :salute:
