Heckler & Koch OHT
on: September 11, 2015, 08:37:36 PM
I haven't seen this before, a typical one handed trekker but without the saw.

I think the saw is there, just not fanned out.  Looks like three layers, no?  You can see the tip of the saw poking out.

Looks like the liner lock for the cap lifter/flathead. I think it's two

No.  I am looking at my OHT now.  First layer (going by the second pic) is the cap lifter.  (You can't see the spring).  Then the liner lock.  Then the blade backspring.  Then the saw backspring.

Edit: goddarnit, I have the OHT out for two seconds and already I nipped my finger on the blade.  Now I remember why this lives in its box.

Maybe they used a stock photo of a 3 layer (the digital artist missing the saw layer) to make soem catalog/press pictures and actually sell a 2 layer? The HK on teh pic loks quite "shopped" to me? That would solve teh mystery of the unfanned saw and teh 2 layer description. I guess not many Digital Picture editors would be able to tell teh layers on a 111 Vic as fluent as we do...

Its a standard Victorinox OH Trekker. Basically a civilian version of the new German army knife.
