Leatherman PST
on: September 20, 2015, 06:10:15 AM
Does anyone here wish Leatherman would bring back the PST?  It is just so much easier to carry than any other multitool.  Such an efficient usage of space and weight.  It's the only (non-micro) multitool that is comfortable to carry in a pocket.  Tim Leatherman really nailed it on the first try with this design.

It's like the first movie,it's always the best, even though the others are bigger and better at some things,it's still easier to carry.  :salute:

Oh man. Total agreement. PST II is pretty much my favorite user.
I've made this wish many times...

That's true, and I have one off eBay in pretty good condition.  But knowing that they aren't made any more, and can't be replaced under warranty, you just won't use them like you'd use a tool still in production.  I am too much of a collector now to carry my PST.

I would love to see new PSTs in production, maybe priced like a new Wingman?  I wonder how the production costs would compare.

I have one that gets used just like any other tool. I do have several backups though.

As much as i like to see the PST in production I know its not coming back. I do have a few backups. There were over 10 million PST's made so the supply will not dry up any time soon. They can be bought on ebay at some what reasonable prices. You use to be able to buy good used PST's in the $10 to $15 range. NIB could be had for $25 to $35. Those days seem to be long gone.   :D
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

I've got my $5 PST I revived riding in the trunk of my motorcycle, and have 2xPST II'S, one broken in old style plier head which is my user, and a new style plier head in really great shape (just cosmetic issues, scratches), waiting for if this one ever needs to be replaced :tu:

With reasonable use they should last decades I'd say

David- hear ya there, I joined this forum while there were still TONS of tsa auctions, rejoined, looked for the ones I used to follow on eBay, which to my surprise and dismay were gone :( glad I had some fun with them while I did

I liked the PST, but loved the PST2. I buy that one again in a hot minute.
