Sorry mate, that's pretty much a swear word on this forum. You win't find much love for it by members here.

Urban Prepper went all reborn motorcycle rebel about it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnSiBYZUERw

I see it as a novelty item for multi tool geeks like us but can´t see my self using it in real life application.
(Apart from the fact that I wouldn´t like to be found dead wearing a thing like that)
Leatherman seem to be struggling to stay innovative. Ideas are a bit far fetched and far from real world applications. I find that common with companies that were born innovative starting with enthusiast with a passion for the product and application.
Next generation designers come from a complete other background maybe a lot of young ones with no real life experience  and want to keep the innovations coming and someone is not filtering the things that go into the funnel or there is to few things entering the funnel so everything go through.

I like it, but I am not going to run out and buy one an time soon. Just a little to pricey. Although, I have seen people send way more money on watches.

That's us mobile.

Nice! As much as I dislike it, I'd proudly wear one if my wife bought it for me.

This.  The Tread is the only Leatherman offering ever to make me a little grumpy.  I think its because the R&D that went into it could have been used to upgrade the Juice, to design a mini-Rebar or any number of other offerings for the real Leatherman consumer.

I put the Tread in the same category as paracord bracelets.  Both are more man-jewelry than practical items.  Just my take.

No, that would be from a cat. The Tread is surprisingly comfy. No hair pulling etc.

I like mine, and have used it a few times, but I will agree with this. It's man jewelry.

Which I really don't take issue with.  I love mine, had it since day one.  I use it on my bike all the time, and I've already used the glass-breaker.

Why not both? man jewelry and practical item - form and function. Two friends of mine got it as a gift and they are happy with it.

I also got mine from my fiance. I love it. The bottle opener is actually very handy. Using the screwdriver is much easier and "usable" then I anticipated. I get lots of compliments on the style. I was very skeptical at first. But after owning one for two months I think leatherman did a great job.

People complain about the price but it's down right sane compared to what some guys are paying for titanium bottle openers.

Sure but those guys and gals play in a different $$ league, and most don't own an MT nor do they care much for one.
