There is lots of sand for building castles on Tatooine!  :D

Very cool stuff- I must admit that I had been looking at Vader in swim fins in the previous photo and thought it would be cool if they actually did that... and lo and behold, there he was!   :D

As for the skyhopper being Imperial grey, why wouldn't it be?  After all, Luke was trying to go to the Imperial Academy at that point!

Star Wars would have been a very different series had Uncle Owen not successfully kept Luke on the farm!

Def
It's a fair point Grant.  My memory says that the T-16 model you see Luke playing with is more sandy/creamy in colour but I could be way off.

Day 14 (before I forget)

A nifty rendition of a B-Wing.  I did wonder if it might be a Resistance Bomber at first, but no, definitely a B-wing.  If I'm being super picky I'd say that the cockpit doesn't really convey  the roundness of the real thing.  Also in grey.

Imperial grey was probably on everything, for no other reason than it was probably produced in such high volumes to cover all of the Imperial Fleet that it not only supported entire planetary economies, but also was dirt cheap for anyone looking for a decent, inexpensive paint for their starship.

And why not?  All of Star Wars boils down to finances, trade and politics!   :D

That's probably one of the things that fascinates me the most about Star Wars- you have magical wizards with swords made of light, you have spaceships capable of travelling anywhere in the galaxy within a few hours, you have an exceptional gallery of rogues only overshadowed by a variety of creatures beyond our imagination.... and yet it all started with trade disputes which lead to overbearing governments, which got so bad that a guy who made his living smuggling drugs was the good guy!   :ahhh

And that is totally not why I have started installing secret compartments in my Jeep, no matter what anyone tells you!  :P

Day 16+17.

As sure as brussel sprouts, you're going to get a "weapons rack" in a Star Wars advent calendar.  Just about as welcome too. ::)  The Mouse Droid is kinda cute though.  :D

Today's is much better; an Imperial Snowtrooper.  8)  I was always a "good guy" toy buyer but for some reason I did have a few speSmurfpillst  Stormtrooper figures, and this was one of them.

Days 18 and 19 bring us more Hoth based goodies.  A base defence turret (which, lets be honest here, didn't do any good whatsoever).  Today we get an AT-ST for the turret to, ineffectively, shoot at.  :D

Days 20 and 21 have given us yet MORE Hoth loveliness.  A second (yet equally ineffectual) base defence turret and a somewhat more useful Luke.  Freshly escaped from the Wampa perhaps.

The whole Echo Base is feeling very well represented this year.

Well, that's it.  All done in what's been a very quick month so far.  Pretty sure it was November last week.   Clearly we have a third Christmassy Droid; R2-D2 with jumper to complement C-3PO's.  Thanks to everyone who has followed along.  :salute:

It certainly did have its moments, and the droid B2EMO would be pretty easy to make in Lego!

Resistance is futile.  :D

I bought 7 3d metal kits last year and built 4 of them over the holidays. I will say, third party ones are not as good as the metal earth kits. I had to throw away 1 of the airplane models due to lack of proper instructions combined with poor laser cutting leaving micro metal bridges that frustrated me something fierce. At least these guys did allow me to not buy more Lego stuff recently.

@ Grant - really really nice set.....

However - Batman and Star Wars ..... Are you having problems living in the real world? / Leaving your childhood?   .......    :pok:

Good day everyone. I have been somewhat busy with LEGO once again...however with other kits I can find online. A few weeks ago, I built my largest set yet with the purchase of a Mould King Black Pearl ship kit, weighing in at 2868 pieces...this model took me well over a week to finish with life intrusions and all. So big in fact that it wouldn't fit where I thought I would display it...so now it fits in my bathroom. The ship is 76.3 cm long and 61.2 cm high.

20230430_142348A by Chako, on Flickr

The instructions were very good.

20230430_142403A by Chako, on Flickr

I did encounter an issue with the Captain's cabin. Every time I attempted to put the sides on, the rear would fall apart as a portion of it was held with only a single strip of bricks. After some swearing and cursing, out came the plastic cement, which fixed my issues.

Here is the Black Pearl which dwarfs all my other Pirate Ships builds. The model was so tall that it wouldn't fit on that top shelf. I didn't like where it was in this photo as it was a bit sketchy and I would cry if it ever fell into thousands of pieces. It now resides in my bathroom where it fits nicely.
