I was planning on waiting until I had a better work area to assemble this set. If you look closely at the photo below, you will spot a working sliding door.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

This is a really sweet set. It has lots of interesting details (though the sliding door takes the cake) and construction techniques. I don't remember the last time I built such a large set: 939 pieces. Speaking of time, I got it done in about 2.5 hours.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The alternate models are a town house and a very glassy cabin. I may buy a second set just to build the cabin (and have a brick separator in reserve). On top of that, I have discovered that a Lego Store and a Bricks & Minifigures are close enough to me. I may be in trouble. :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

May4th release UCS jangos slave 1  :ahhh 300eur... :-\

Previous UCS Boba slave 1 was 200 on release 10 years ago

I'll probably end up buying it once I have some sort of reasonable discount

A discount is the way to go. Meijer recently had the Modern House I showed earlier at a 20% discount. Silly me just had to have it at full price...damn FOMO.

At the time the boba edition rolled out I wasn't in a position to pick it up, then shortly after they pulled it and the price rocketed.

Still haven't grabbed it, but even used market is more reasonable than the new version.

It's been too long since this thread had an update. And I decided against selling my Legos, for a couple of reasons. Since today is my birthday, I decided to build a couple of sets that I originally intended to leave boxed in hopes of profiting off them.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

We'll start with set number 42168, the John Deere 9700 Forage Harvester. Some parts of this build were tricky, but the end result is pretty impressive, with a lit of neat details and functionality put into the combine head. The photo below shows it with the discharge chute folded away and the head raised, ready to work on the next field. :D

And this is set number 42136, the John Deere 9620R 4WD Tractor. Again, parts of the buld were tricky, and those damn labels! Yet I can't deny the end result looks good, with rear steering and a bogey-type suspension on the trailer. To think that 30 years ago, this model probably would have been three or four feet long!

Edit: I'm leaving these assembled for now. They'll be going on display when my bookcase gets here. And I have a Mercedes-AMG F-1 car that's also waiting its turn.

I've been window shopping a display cabinet from Ikea for ages, it would be the same for me, having a place to put them after building.

Sadly Normandy doesn't have much of a summer and we've had a lot of wind and rain over the past week, a likely sign summer is over.

Also think all the beachfront restaurants are packing up next week

OMG I'm still doing this. (My pretty much adult daughter has let go of most of the frippery around Christmas, but the SW Lego Calendar HAS to be done).

I always try and identify a build before double checking my thoughts and so, for the first day of Advent we bring you.....this guy!! He welds and stuff.  Something to do with Droids anyway.

Jay's Brick Blog

Honestly I can't remember the last time there was absolutely zero building to be done. :-\  It can only get better from here I guess?

Day 2 and it's...OK?  I guess?  Workbench for Babu Frik.  It's scenery which I don't normally approve of but it makes more sense for somewhere for Babu to sit/stop him getting lost.

Day 3 and it seems like we are on a, very, slow climb.   :-\  Apparently the red eyes are a nod to the Rise of Skywalker (with Day one's Babu Frik) where 3PO is programmed to read Sith.

At least we have lots of room for improvement.  :D

Day 4.

Hey, an actual build!  Still on the maintenance theme we have a "pit" Droid.  Seen in the prequels and the Mandalorian etc.  Not the most inspiring character but actually fun enough to put together.

Day 5.

What the actual smurf?  Pretty unrecognisable thing by itself so I admit I had to look it up at Jay's Blog

It's a chair.  Effectively a dentist's chair.  How very smurfing inspiring.  ::)

I strongly suspect they're going with building an entire scene.  If I was making Hoth Base I might be getting into this, but it's a Droid workshop.  :dunno:

Day 6.

A Gonk Droid with pretty random feeling bits attached to it.  The Brush says "cleaner" but I'm a bit confused by the rest.  What has always been a little "meh" in previous years has become my highlight of the year (this isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of the Gonk).

I almost picked up that Star Wars advent calendar when i saw it for sale the other day. It was so tempting. I've actually given away my Lego collection twice now. Sadly, I feel so much less imaginative as an adult, so they mostly sit in a box.

Who knows, maybe looking through this thread more will inspire me to pull them out for a bit while we're watching football.

Nice little Astromech.  I am reliably informed that it's R7-A7; companion to Ahsoka.

I have Lego Roses to still build and also the Audi Rally Car set from a couple years ago to build.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Can you tell what it is?  If so, you did better than me.  :D  We actually quite like putting this wee chap together but we both said "ahhh" when I looked it up and didn't feel bad not recognising it.

Isn't that a buzz droid from Revenge Of The Sith?  The ones that grabbed on to Obi Wan and Anakin's starfighters?

Never mind, I just clicked your link and I was right!   :D

I appreciate you posting this every year as it's the only thing that has kept me from buying the Lego Star Wars Advent calendar myself each year!  I can enjoy it vicariously!

Yeah, I agree, it's not as cool as previous years, but it is still pretty cool.  And, the cool thing about Lego is that if you don't like what it's supposed to be, there's nothing to stop you making something cool out of it.   :tu:

With all that said....

Day 9.

It's a box of Droid legs. ::)  Open packet, tip legs into box, done.  Oh, for the halcyon days where I got to build a chair.
