Just pulled-the-plug on a Cold Steel 4 Max Scout.  Got an email from my knife-broker today, and I quickly jumped-on-it!  Last time I waited, they were 'sold-out'.   These are done in AUS-10 steel, with the obligatory 'grivory' handles.  I'll post an unboxing sequence when it arrives-on-site.  Also, picked-up some new paracord for lanyard material.

The size of the knife in comparison to the hand holding g it begs the question of how large that knife is. It also makes me think of “that’s not a knife, THAT’s a knife”

Kauhavan Puukkopaja - 77mm utility / carpenter / craft puukko. 77mm, 3.2mm carbon steel Lauri blade (is that 3'' x 0.1""?). Really nice dimensions. Has a microbevel in the scandi and the tang goes through the birch handle. Leather sheath is comfy and dangly.

Not really mine, but a present for a friend: Leuku / puukko combo from Wood Jewel. Damn, that Leuku is unexpectedly comfortable. The puukko is a very nice 77mm (same Lauri blade). The finish of the scandi is a rougher machine finish, noticeable on the leuku. The handles are great, though.

I'll try to post a thread in the mod squad with all the details ;-) (but it's nothing fancy! Boiling, simmering, dipping, and voilà!)

Kershaw sure does make some high value blades.

Did you by chance compare the springfield to the similar offering from sig before your purchase? What made your decision?

Havent bought much lately as work has been slow and funds tight. But I had to make a run for this one and won it cheap. I thought it would go for a lot more and was prepared to shell some cash to try and win it. I almost fell outta my chair when I saw how cheap I'd won it for. Camillus 68's dont pop up very often and nice Rogers bone ones even less so.

I also own the P365 and P365 XL.  All of them are first rate. "Best" is in the eye of the beholder. I subjectively prefer the Hellcat just slightly, but all of them are yummy.

Yes, the 68 is the big brother to the 64. I had a 64 a couple years ago and gave it to a friend. It was a nice knife. I hope to find another nice 64 again.

Been doing more projects during the current world situation.

This was a long time coming. I bought the blade but build the handle. It took a long time to get enough birch (multiple years).  Lots of mistakes, but it turned out well and feels great in the hand. Will make a sheath next. Handle is about 1/8" longer than the blade.

Great job! So how do you build the handle? Handle / blade ratio sounds about right, I don't like blades longer than handles ;-)
