I am sure you would need a good photo of the hook lock with some measurements.   I don't know what the lock looks like.  These things aren't exactly plentiful, even in the US.  I have never seen one.  I thought Nehalem was Hebrew, but it is a town in Oregon.  The chances that someone has one that has been disassembled to view the missing lock are very small.  I will put in a photo from the Leatherman catalog, so people will know what you are looking for.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

You may be thinking of Nephilim, comes from the Hebrew word nefilim meaning "the fallen ones".

Greetings from Finland! If it's okay, I'll borrow this thread because it was hard to find anything else about this online.

I just managed to get a Nehalem and started digging info about it (didn't even know the name of the model before I used Google Lens search), then finally landed here. My question is about the sharpening rod, is it missing something or has someone changed yhe o-ring that, as you can see, doesn't quite stay in place when inserted in the handle? I can't even find a user guide for this anywhere, so could be just user error.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to :MTO:  it could either be worn out or replaced  I have never owned one so I can't be for sure though :salute:

Hopefully someone with one will show up with an answer

Also, congrats on finding one :woohoo: :like: :like:

I'm also glad I found one. :)

Although I'm not much of a collector and this feels like more a collectible than something I would actually use. Might be willing to part ways with it, if someone is interested.

Hello Awl
I got very lucky a few years ago on the NZ equivalent of fleabay and found this for about 35US$.
almost unused apart from a few minor  scratches on the blade where it folded away inside the bone saw . No box  but came with a sheath.

The sharpening rod I have kept out of the sleeve on the display shelf. It now seems very tight to push back into the holding tube so I pick the wee rubber o rings swell or change shape with age.  Maybe your o ring is worn out or compressed too much to hold the rod tight.

For this knife it is either the main blade out or the gut hook out with the main blade tucked inside the saw blade.
