on: January 08, 2012, 06:22:30 AM
I received a wenger nature series knife in the mail today as a gift. Well the only info I can find is on stressmasters blog. Does anyone else have any info?

I never really did find out much more on this other than there are the Otter, Snow Leopard, and a Polar Bear. I think the paper work with them indicates there might be others but never did find out.

There's also a plain-handled version with grooved lines on both side of the handle that's normally grouped with the Nature series. Never seen or heard of any others other than the ones Wayne mentioned. One source I have says the handles are stainless steel; the other says pewter. From their appearance and that they appear to be cast, I would go with the pewter or some other white-metal alloy. They don't show up in any of my limited number of Wenger catalogs; they may have been mainly available in Europe. Beyond their numbers, I don't have any other info on them.

Plain - 1.83.49
Snow Leopard - 1.83.50
Eurasian Otter - 1.83.51
Polar Bear - 1.83.52

That looks to be a page from the 1992-1995 dealers catalog, the one that's missing from the catalog in french we have in the wiki. The one we have goes from 1.8.1->2,3,4,5,6 and then jumps to 1.8.9. for the Star series.

Wonder what the 1.8.8. is. :D

Thanks for the legwork and updating the wiki.

Thank you, it took me quite a long time to make it fit the current layout as I broke some {DIV} at first

That can't be from 1992-1995 as this page has been printed in 1999, can it be?
-I didn't know there was a nearly full Wenger catalog in the wiki, so it looks like I didn't uploaded that page at the right place ?-
By any means it helped me a lot
