The coating feels thin but solid enough. The overall feel is nice, silky, sexy, nnr,... .... Actually it feels OK, but I have no idea how tough it is.
as shown it is a linerlock, released with a wenger style push button on the cross.the lock is in addition to the backspring (slipjoint system, like a normal victorinox, Wenger)
The Swiss makers always emphasised that the lock was just for extra safety, from what I recall.
