The serrations were not done by me, but by a German custom knife maker called Jurgen Schanz.
As far as i know he used a water cooled machine to create them after the profile of Spyderco serrations which i asked for, only done a little shallower because of the narrow Leatherman 154CM blade.

Did you have a problem with the locks installing a PE blade (that you had modified) where the serrated usually goes?

Not really, you only need to remove a tiny amount of metal from the top of the locking liner, otherwise the blade does not lock.

Interesting...that means all the lefties out there can swap their blades around with a little Dremel work.

I don't think that would be a wise thing to do, because then you'd have to remove some metal from the base of the blade itself which could really jeopardize the lockup.
I wouldn't recommend it anyway,

Looks absolutely stunning kwakster! That fellow did a fine job with the serrations.

It looks as though both blades are still set up for right hand opening....
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

I just had an idea, and maybe it's possible after all to make the knife blades on a Wave suitable for left hand use.
When i find the time i will see if my idea has any value,

The actual cost of serrating a plain edge 154CM blade was only 5 Euro per blade, but ofcourse there is also the cost of shipping the blade to him and back.
I had him do several blades at once.
Mind you, i only recently learned Juergen Schanz does the serrating by hand, not on a machine as i thought earlier.

Thank you Kwakster. I guess my question now, is where can I get a 154CM blade, and do they make one for the old Wave?

I have a feeling you guys are going to help me spend alot of money ::)

Oh yeah. We're really very good at that. I think it helps us deal with our own guilt about what we spend on tools, whilst our children go without shoes and meals. A bit like junkies really. :D
