Thanks all. Took it back apart, confirmed washers were fine, and went back with just the CRK grease as the mixture was getting a bit messy. Knife is getting smoother and smoother.

Got the first snail trails last night repairing closet shelving that promptly fell again 2 hours later. Will be a lot easier to use it now!
