Blunt-Nosed + Knifeless?
on: May 30, 2022, 09:05:59 AM
Was looking for knifeless multitool options as I got hired on as a Home Depot MET associate, and they really frown down on blades. Was thinking about asking to use the Victorinox Spirit with the squared serrated. Found that Gerber makes a knifeless MP600, but not as a blunt-nosed pliers that I can find.

Have not carried a Gerber in 30+ years. It pinched me one too many times and it went airborn! Needle-nosed pliers won't help me, but those blunt-nosed might be the cat's meow. Yet I don't really want to go popping the blade off to make it knifeless. Is there an alternative, or an affordable way to make a Knifeless + Blunt Nosed?  Really don't want to get a Lman Knifeless Rebar.

Would the only option be to get a Gerber MP600 and cut/grind the needle-nosed down? I do not have the tools to do this. May have to ask around to find a grinding wheel if it comes down to that.

You could get the bladeless MP600 and the blunt nose MP600 and simply switch the plierheads. It is super easy to do. The leftover tool would just be spare parts if something breaks.

:iagree: too. Easiest conversion (just two c-clips) and , like SirVic, the now-needlenose can be used for spare or to mod (the wharncliffe can be used to make an awl).

Edit- Or, look for an early Powerlock, which is totally customizable; SOG sell the individual tools, including a handy wire gauge/stripper.
