My 3rd new for me PST-II. I think I’ve used it more in one day (armchair) than the previous owner did in 20 years.

I now have two ‘like new’ examples and a working tool that gets regular rotation. These, together with my 3 regular models, make the PST the most popular LM in my humble collection.

I do prefer the classic original leather box pouch, but these Velcro nylon padded ones are OK, and have a neoprene padding that gives them some stiffness and body. Probably better quality than the stuff pushed out today.
I find it easier to just drop the PST in my pocket. It’s small enough for pocket EDC. But I guess if I was climbing up ladders or down holes, I’d put it on the belt.  :salute:

Well I'm quite excited to be rejoining the pst owners club and joining anew the pst II club! I found a II on eBay for a price I was happy with, and happened across a pst at a pawnshop I'd wandered into for a fair price.

A black pst was actually "my" first multitool when I was young. A friend had snapped the tip off the blade of his father's and gave it to me to hide (we were quite young, and knew nothing of the warranty, or just admitting mistakes) while he got a replacement. He later told me to keep it. I replaced it with a wave after I'd enlisted in the US Marines, and for the life of me can't recall what happened to it. Pretty sure  it's either tucked away in some corner to be found by the next adventurer or was passed on to another.

Found this one today in a antique store...there is no date stamped on the inside...any ideals as to when it might have been made? Thanks

Nice find Rapidray.  :like:
Date codes were added from late ‘92 and they added the Reg. number from late 80s, so somewhere in that range.  :salute:

Congrats Ray  :like:
The tools look all good (apart from some very small dents on the cutters).
Just a little clean-up and it's ready to go  :tu:

I have one no date sample, and it’s one of my favorite PSTs. The smaller pivot size gives it a more vintage look compared to the later models with the more modern pivot size. And it’s cool to see a Leatherman with no stampings at all on one side.  :salute:
Sure, the newer ‘outside’ drivers are a little more secure from folding, but I prefer the more centerline older design.
Below are a few pics of the non-date and ‘03 final version example.

Thanks guys,  :hatsoff: The Leatherman PST chronology project is a great reference, but we should do new photos as Photobucket has dumped most the great reference pics.  ???

My 2nd 2003 PST arrived today. Happens to be identical date code as my other one (0103). Definitely assigned to my user list.

I just picked up this PST that is dated 0497 (at least I think that is the date of manufacture). The PST was my first tool I had and carried it with me for several years on the job. I found this on Offer Up here in Hawai'i. The person I bought it from buys lots from TSA forfeitures. I figured twenty bucks, I couldn't go wrong.
