Long ago I said that Rebar's pliers were overrated and somepeople considered disturbing my commentary.
I tried to cut a wire that tied two fences of a working site, probably 2 mm diameter of hard steel.
Disappointing!

I remember not enjoying how the Rebar tears instead of cutting like the Wave.
It's all horses for courses though, and in my experience the Spirit cutters will deform before the Rebar cutters.
Size doesn't change it either, the Original Surge cuts better but the replaceable Surge/ST300 version will tear through the harder larger types of wire.
Welcome to the forum Nick.
I should also say that I liked the Wingman anvil type cutters, they worked well for me cutting fishing line and speaker cables etc.

Zoid----> Did you find the cutters better on the ST300 than the Rebar?
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

My apologies for missing this until now.
The cutters are the same but if you have big hands the ST300 has slightly longer handles for the extra leverage.
The ST300 also has handle side stranded wire cutters.
I find the Signal and Charge with Rebar plier head mod much more comfortable to use for wire cutting than the Rebar.
Likewise the Surge is more comfortable than the ST300.
With that said, I've found the Rebar to be very capable.
Hope that helps.
