I sent him a PM a week or so ago and he told me he had been really busy and that he might not be around much for a little while.

Unfortunately I just don't have the time atm to hunt down some of the outstanding collection pics.
Also scenery pics, I have enjoyed looking at a ton of excellent pics you have shared around the boards.
Scrolling quickly through my own point clicks I've picked out five that I think came out okay.

the random photo you like that doesn't deserve its own thread

There are a considerable number of great photos in this and other threads.

It would be difficult to choose any single photo as best.

Here is my meager attempt at photography.LOL

I like Opinels but I'm always perturbed at how they come about.  Some of you may already know this but they're actually harvested from the bones of French giants  :-\

I guess this answers the question of which tool is lighter to carry.

This is nothing spectacular but it was taken outdoors and is picture of a limited production knife.

Limited production version of the 119?

What is so special about it?

Thanks brother.

I've been very fortunate since I began looking for interesting and different Buck knives because many new configurations have come onto the market.

I'm glad to see Buck bouncing back.  For a while there they looked like they were going to go the way of Schrade, and to save themselves they first went to a very dark place (cheaper and cheaper stuff from Asia) then took a hell of a gamble moving production back to the US.

I am very glad to see that risk has paid off for them and that another great US based brand hasn't fallen.  Not that there isn't some decent stuff coming from China, far from it, but I hate to see the mighty fall.

And my thoughts and feelings on Taylor Brands like the new Schrade and Smith & Wesson are well documented....

You know boss... I heard that the new Schrade slippies aren't that bad really... some even say they are better in materials and build quality than the old Imperials... I might get one and test it out as they are dirt cheap...

And yes I have Schrade ToughTool 2 and it is the worst piece of junk I've ever had the displeasure of seeing...

I've heard that too, but then I have also heard that Kanye West is the greatest rock star who ever lived and that there's a man in a red suit who lives in the North Pole and distributes toys to the world's children in one night, so, you know, you can't believe everything you hear.

That was my original plan for starting this thread.  Now if only folks have the original, high resolution versions of these pics we'll be set!  :D
