On the Twin Task lights, the switch is set up so it alternates every time it is turned on- LED, off, Krypton, off, LED, off, Krypton, off and so on.
...
If that's the way the Task Light works, I appreciate the suggestion, but no thanks!

Some people actually do prefer that Off-High-Off-Low-etc. style UI, but I'm not one of them.

The Tasklights have an Off-High-Low-Off-etc. style UI with the strobe function separate from the normal sequence.

Tasklight UI (starting from Off):
-First click is always High
-Second click goes to Low
-Third click goes back to Off

Tasklight Strobe UI:
-Hold switch down 4 seconds in any level to start Strobe
-While Strobing, clicking once goes to Off

I'd actually prefer that the first click was Low rather than High, but I've become used to High being first so it doesn't really bug me anymore.

The 2AA Tasklight will not impress hard core flashaholics, but ordinary people usually want to check mine out.  Bright enough for close to medium distance tasks, it's also fine for night hiking.

A "great bang for the buck light" that has served me well for a couple of years now.

That I could at least get used to- I would know that for low light apps I have to click it twice.  The problem with the Twin Task is that I never know what is going to come on, and let me tell you, the last thing you want is to be looking at a reflective piece of white plastic (ID) in the dark and suddenly click on a high intensity light.

Clicking it twice as I pull it out is much more sensible IMHO.  The Twin Task would be great if it operated like that, or if there was a second switch that allowed the user to select the LED or the incan.  Anyone know of a mod that can be done to fix it?

I researched that after you and I discussed it before, and I couldn't come up with anything...

Probably cost more than the light is worth to mod it even if there was a way huh?

For about twice the price of the Tasklight, this one has a selector dial to choose your output:

Wish Streamlight would offer that Night Com selector dial on some of their other lights.

Sorry, but I don't know of any switch mods for the Twin Task series.

That Twin Task UI is the reason I've never bought a Twin Task - would be OK for a seldom used emergency light, but not something I'd want to deal with daily.

some nice suggestions here :salute:

that NiteCore D10 looks sweet, I've been seeing good things about it,
and I really like 3-130 lumens/programmable! I'll have to get one someday.
