Any Aussies found a good place to get them here for a reasonable price? (Ie around A$300)
Do you have to remove the knife from the box to see the serial number or is it printed on the box itself as well?

I saw 7 of these on ebay late last night, & bought one myself. An hour later there were two left and now this morning they are all gone. Don't look for bargains, just buy one. Its value will rocket.
Ah you mean Australian dollars. $400=275 Euros which is too much. Victorinox is asking 221 euros for them.
"still can't afford it at all on apprentice wages hahah"Not to worry, matey! Just make your own. Here's my Damascus Spartan Lite...(Image removed from quote.)

"their price points are absurd to me"Absolutely, there is no way a SAK should cost 220 euros. They cost maybe 20 to make! But these are very rare & especially pretty SAKs with a magical property - instead of losing value, like your car, your laptop, your stereo etc, they increase in value. Look at the 2010 Damascus Pioneer. Cost ca. 200 Euros, sells nowadays for >1000. (I don't have one!)It waits to be seen whether these ones will increase in value so dramatically; but I suspect that their value will increase with time. If I had the choice between 1 share in Apple Inc. or a 2016 Damascus, I think the Damascus would be the safer investment. The pioneers, with their metal scales and slick look are more broadly appealing than the gigantic hunting knives of last year or the cute but nerdy wooden Carl Elsner Explorers. Some of those limited editions are sitting around on shelves, unsold. These ones are already hard to find. It's like buying a painting by an artist you like, not just some guy who happens to be trendy at the moment.I bought 2 of these: mainly as an investment, but also so I don't say, in 5 years time, "Idiot! Why didn't I buy one of them when I could..."
Wouldn't it be called Damascai?
