I was hesitant to resurrect the 4 and 5 year old threads....

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,28009.0.html
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,18395.0/nowap.html

....and we have lots of new members so I started another.

Please feel free to post your Dutch Air Force/Army/Navy knives.

One from the pile....

Dutch Air Force issue (sterile) Master Craftsman (I am told)

Here's my KL92

Thanks to ColoSwiss and Duder for the ID help on my MC!

Was there a DAK run produced by Victorinox in 1984?  I think I read somewhere that there are no DAKs from 1984, but I wanted to check again so that I don't keep checking for one.

I have records for over 300 93mm alox style DAKs. There are no 1984 models from Victorinox in my records. There are Victorinox models dated 1983 and every year from 1985 to 1992. The only 1984 dated DAK I've seen is from Amelfa.

SAK-Guy : just curious as to what identifies yours as from the Dutch Air Force. Are the scale colors unique, or is it marked like the alox versions are? Haven't seen one before that I recall.

I will link to Duder's excellent post.

It's the ('75-'86) square Phillips and sterile blue scales on this particular model (Master Craftsman) that indicates an early cellidor scale version of the issue knife. Folks that collect these think it's one but since it's sterile, it can't be verified by known examples. Maybe Jazzbass can date closer it for us.  I would love to hear if anyone has any more info on it.

I'd say something in the 1978-1982 range. If the backspring on the metal file is smooth where the tips of those file rests, it's probably in the early part of that range. It is has a little bump on the end, it's probably in the latter part of that range.

Ah, thanks Robert. Good info there. I have a couple of the alox DAK's, can't recall years of the top of my head without looking. But I guess I never have paid attention that there may be cellidor models too under contract.

Thanks!  :tu:

**I don't even want to open that door. I've enough trouble buying alox! Lol.
