Day 11

very cool, but why are there prices in your display?  >:D

Powernoodle Day 11

(Image removed from quote.)
I pulled the 2009 ST300 out of my pocket and heard something hit the floor.  The little pivot tab on the lock had snapped off, causing the lock to fall off.  My subconscious mind said, "Remain calm, Powernoodle. Breathe. Remember your training!"  So I'm sending this one off to Timmy today, and fortunately I have several spares to keep me going.
sucks, but at least you have a backup while this 1 goes in.

So what's the dealeo on the crimper?  I tend to think that it was on all BO Super Tool 300s from the outset, and then disappeared when the BO OED version was released with a more robust crimper.  Am I right about that?  The one shown was manufactured in January, 2010.

When the EOD plier head came out (probably originally on the MUT  ) they discontinued the regular cap crimper but I am not sure exactly what year  unless it was the same year that the MUT came out :dunno:

I don't have one of those with the regular cap crimper,  only the EOD, sure is nice :dd: I know that Steve also has one of those

Poncho, why do you have to show off the dual color stuff? I am not a fan of BO and have been able to easily resist buying any BO Leathermans. But how can I resist something that looks so good?

If I go broke buying both stainless and BO so that I can combine them like you have, it will be your fault!

At least, that is the excuse I am going to try on my wife  :D

RP and Echotech,

From what I can tell from RP's picture of the SAK and Leatherman display, it appears that you guys have to pay a substantial premium for Leatherman MTs.

In the States, a SuperTool 300 sells for $89 US, which should be approximately $115 AUS. How much does a SuperTool 300 typically sell for in Australia?

Does it speak well of a MT that you need another MT in order to deploy one of its tools?

The display case is from Mister Minit. They sell the ST300 for $230 Aus. That is a rip-off.
Ebay.com.au has it for around $170 Aus.
Amazon.com.au lists it for $130 Aus though the listing is through Amazon.com. Still ok. This was not always an option. They had Australia blacklisted for a long time and would not send anything down here.

Well, it's only the lanyard ring. That said, the Flik is terrible. Carrying along the ST300 would be wise. If you then leave the Flik at home.

:iagree: what RP said :tu:

The Australia Tax, we pay more for most imports :ahhh

To make matters worse for the last month or so, eBay won’t let me buy most second hand MT’s from the US, and also had a problem with knives being confiscated by eBay shipping en route, even though there’s nothing illegal about owning them here in Sydney, carrying is a different matter…any other Aussies experienced the same? :dunno:

Nice combo. That little knife looks really nice.

Thanks!

It is nice. I have been looking at it for months on Amazon but never pulled the trigger on making the purchase until last week. It is the right shape and size for my every daily usage. And the blade metal is D2, which will hold its edge longer than 8cr13mov and 420HC when working with copper wire.

Sam Lim installed the blade from the drop point version of this knife in his Surge:
