With Grant busy getting a bionic foot transplant, I thought I'd offer to post up the donation thread for March.  :D

The super tinker is a very popular 3 layer SAK that I make, so I thought offering one up for donation would be a good option.

By the way if you prefer the corkscrew on the back instead of the phillips Im more than happy to swap that out before I ship.  So your choice of super tinker or climber.  :D

Here is the official list of mods I have done to the stock model.

- Stock plastic scales have been replaced by Titanium (Ti-6-4) scales
- Scales have been shaped, sanded and tumbled to a lustrous matte finish
- The front scale has had a copper cross flush inlaid
- Stock liners have been replaced by polished brass custom made ones
- A slot has been milled into the back scale for brass converted tweezers to fit
- The standard brass rivets have been replaced with 0.125" hardened steel pivots, and T6 torx screws
- The wear points inside the Ti scales have been carbidized and polished to prevent any galling by the tools
- Outer liners have been removed which makes this super tinker 0.120" thinner overall vs a stock one.

And here is a pile of pics to help convince you to donate if you're debating... :D

All you need to do is donate the equivalent of $10US to the Forum Operational Fund and, if we hit our monthly goal of $275 we will give this Ti SAK away to a lucky winner!  For each $10 you donate you will get another entry- $20 gets you two chances, $50 gets you 5 chances and so on.

You can donate using the link above, the Donations link at the top of the forum or using the big orange Make A Donation button on the right side of your screen if you are using a computer.

Cheers guys and good luck!

Robert

This is my favorite model right now, Ive always been happy with 3 layers, and for me the super tinker is the best compromise of number of tools and thickness.

This pic shows the thickness difference between a stock super tinker and one of mine.  Note this shows a blue anodized one, but same thickness as the one pictured above.

You can see the trick I use to skip the back liner is to put the tweezer slot aligned with the backspring, so that spring holds in the tweezer and I can skip the liner.  Its been working out great that way.

I will keep my fingers crossed that I will be lucky!

I've always found the Super Tinker to be the best edc sak there is... my only peeve is that it feels too thick...
Yeah, I know I just edced the Swisschamp for a month, but that's different... the SC has tons of tools, feels more like a toolbox.. it's mostly belt carry and even in the pocket it feels like a toolbox... a Tinker feels like a thin knife-tool and the SuperTinker is just that tad too thick to pass the thin-carry stage but too thin to go to the toolbox stage... this thinner, no liner Super Tinker would make the perfect compromise... I wonder if I could squeeze some money from the wifey to donate something....

If Syph doesn't mind, I'd like to sweeten the pot a little.  If we hit the goal by midnight on the 15th (Server Offset Time of course) then I will toss in an Early Bird Draw, which, if someone wins, will not exclude them from the final draw either.

And, if we double the goal I'll also give away whichever prize Thomas doesn't want from February!

cool, thanks for the opportunity!

I've just donated, I have a question, though. I have donated 10 euros, which should be a little more than 10 USD, still in the donation page this is what is shown:

  NAME                Amount        USD
danilo                 €10.00 (EUR)     9.80
someone else1   $10.00 (USD)    9.31
someone else2   $10.00 (USD)    9.41
someone else3   $20.00 (USD)   18.92

for some reasons the USD column shows a smaller amount than the one donated, the question is of course: am I entitled to take part to the draw? (and are "someone else1" and "someone else2" as well?)

Thanks,
Danilo

That is after PayPal fees... you can see that 10 USD result in even less, but if you pay in Euros you pay for the transfer AND the conversion from Euro to Dollar.

More importantly, the site doesn't hold fees against members.  If you guys are generous enough to give your hard earned money we are not going to penalize you for it.

I must agree with whatever Grant says . . .

It just went over the 100% mark.

Thank you Robert and Grant!

We absolutely did, and before midnight on the 15th, so that means we will have an Early Bird Draw!

There's 11 and a half hours left if anyone wants to get in on the Early Bird Draw!
