Key Chain Tool
on: September 04, 2008, 07:08:13 PM
I just received a new key chain tool.  Here is the sellers description (deal extreme $1.97 US):Ultrafire Stainless Steel Bottle Opener (with Screw Driver and Wrench Tools)- Completely stainless steel construction, 3-size hex screw wrench, Beer, coke bottle opener, Cross screw driver.

First impressions....
Its a solid unit, I would not hesitate to do some light prying with it.
I do not know the 3 wrench sizes except that it is not 1/4" (I may file one wrench opening a hair bigger to accommodate a 1/4" driver.)
Cap lifter works perfectly, as does the Phillips head screw driver.
The unit is too thick to use a side as a flat head driver, I will be Dremmeling that shortly to make it work.
It is much bigger than my other key chain tool, a flat head driver, but a little more functional.
As someone pointed out on the web site, it could be used as a defensive weapon (grasping the base in hand with the phillips head poking out of your fist) though its unlikely anyone would ever use it as such.
I will give it a week and see if I still like it, if not....who cares it was cheap.

Ok.  I ground down an edge to make a flat head driver, it works OK...could use a little more work.  I also made the 1/4" wrench part.  I attached a flat/phillips head bit to it and it has good leverage.  I won't be carrying it with a bit but its nice option to have.

'Cause you actually wanted a 12 and the guy misread it as a 13, and as unlucky as it was, it stuck? :D

I EDC'd it for 5 mins.  Its too big for my key chain.  It has now been placed on my whistle chain for work, along with my key fob, and (opps) no whistle.

If anyone decides to buy some of these please order a few extra for me. I don't use Paypal anymore and that seems to be the only option.

Thanks,

John
