They moved the nail nick to the other side.

I totally want one, but might have to get a new headlamp first.

Will probably get mine through felinevet when I can afford it.

It's a good solid tool like you would expect from Vic, maybe more so since they haven't started cutting corners on the 93mm's like they did on others. Carries well for me, slightly thicker than a Farmer but hard to notice, the backwards nail nick is not a real problem, it just takes several deployments to get used to. The price you are showing seems in the right range, I paid around $60 usd for mine shipped.  :salute:

Trying to wait patiently but most US sites don't think they'll have them until mid May. I'm REALLY hoping someone does a run of colorized versions soon -maybe red, blue or black.

Heck, I might even get the Damascus.

Our importer got a shipment in early March  (well done Sharp Edge!) and I've been carrying mine most days since then. It's the near perfect tool selection for me, so I really like it. Size and weight is perfect too.  :tu:

Against my better judgement, I did the same thing last night.  I just know it's going to be too thick for me, but I just had to get one.  I should have it in a few days.

I got mine as a gift from my wife. I love it.

 :worthless:

Ok - the nail nick on the scissors is on the wrong side. But that´s nit-picking. Many of us waited so long for this day to happen ... I can life with that nail nick as it works as well.

Ta

0.571 inches across the scales.
0.610 inches across the rivet heads that stand proud above the scales.

Just noticed the request came from Europe.

14.5 mm across the scales.
15.5 mm across the rivet heads that stand proud above the scales.

So it is thicker than a Farmer?

I really love the size of a Farmer. Feels so good in the hand.

If you want to send me one I'll be able to tell you as I don't have one to measure. Might be a very very long time before I'm able to send it back though. The SAKs here can check out any time they like but they can never leave.  :D

Its thicker, by about one mm, if that much.

EDIT: oops I did not see the exact measurements given above, but I'm sticking to my thumb-suck estimate.  :D

I'm assuming these are costing a slight premium because they are a pre-release so to speak. How much will regular retail be you think? Are scissored versions typically less or more than similar models? Like the farmer.

It's already been rolled out in Europe. Mine came from Switzerland and I presume the others also came from European sources. My price was a fair one without much if any premium. Shipping cost a little more but I spread that across two SAKs I wanted; the other one was a new Soldier with dated tang that you cannot get in the USA, and the price on it was also a fair one.

Ya I ordered from ebay seller who was Swiss.

The scissors layer is 0.100" thick while the saw layer is 0.070" so that accounts for the slightly thicker X vs farmer.

Ok so not much difference in size really.

Not a big scissors user so no hurry for me to get one.

Sigh, I am pretty much making up excuses not to get one at this point.

I wonder why Vic didn't go with a thinner stock for the scissors?  They appear to be really over-built for what they need to be.  They could have take something the thickness of the Executive scissors (or even gone slightly thicker) and increased the size and had a useful product that wasn't as thick.
