"I've never been much of a friend of the parcel-hook"

... until I got one and found use for it!

My first hook appeared on Syph's march-draw-gem, until then, since being more on the vintage-side, I hadn't come across a hook on any of my, maybe 50, SAKs;-)

I'm now finally planning to actually carry my new Syph-Climber, not as an edc (would still feel like a sacrilege, even though Syph's mods seem to be the sturdiest and most usable SAKs in the world) but as a special-occasion-carry (SOC).

A needles sometimes comes handy, so I tried to figure out how to include one.
Can you see the needle-head resting finely in a small notch of the spring?
Works well, and I've finally found out what the real purpose of that hook is ;-)

Shouldn't he get the "Custom Alox with Scissors" badge too?  :think:

 :think: I think I've seen Ti customs count for the badge. I could be mistaken.
Because they're 93mm. It would make sense if they counted, though I suppose the badge would have to be called "93mm custom with scissors", and I doubt it'll change its name to that.

But this is a 91mm custom, right? Yeah, too bad. Sorry mate.

Although I was thinking that having the  scissor springs out there takes much of the sport out of alox scissor modding.
